Originally hailing from the mountains of Mdantsane township, the journeys of a slick wordsmith, Simiato Matik, have taken him through J-Sect’s urban sprawl from the mean streets of Hillbrow to the hoods of Johannesburg South. A period he now looks back on as he details memories of short jail stints and street hustles just to keep afloat.
This latest music video single titled, “Bosman” is the fourth single he releases from his upcoming 2022 album officially titled, “6097”. The song is a journey of self-healing and reintroducing himself to the world again as he reintroduces himself to himself again. He spits a poignant opening line in the video to this effect, “Gold coastal check the level of my vocals before I go postal tryna stay sober so I toke local”.                        The video immerses Simiato Matik in a rugged Johannesburg background of graffiti-strewn walls and imposing authoritarian architecture to match his eerie self-produced soundscape. The music video is artfully produced and edited by Pronoia.Africa’s cinematographer and producer M.A.D and features underground MC, Selema Writes’ debut as director.
