Rezonance NYE 2017 was a 4-day psychedelic marathon held at Theewaters near Grabouw, a location chosen specifically to keep the “dodgy elements” of Cape Town at bay while remaining close enough for a quick mountain crossing . For M.A.D (Mark Anthony Duckitt), the founder of Pronoia.Africa, the event was simply “an insane party” . The festival lived up to its motto: “Dreaming of a world where anything is possible we continue until it is at least probable” .
The atmosphere was a mix of “reckless abandon and general mayhem” under Artescape’s mind-boggling psychedelic decor, including giant birds and multi-dimensional installations . While the main stage saw international heavyweights like Blastoyz, Stryker, and Talpa drop “filthy full-on night time beats,” the Nova Stage offered a more progressive groove .
Between the sets, guests could retreat to the Chill Temple for “intelligent electronica” or visit the Prema Shanti Healing Sanctuary for some shamanic recalibration . It was a place where 10,000 “cosmonauts and merry pranksters” gathered to ring in 2018 with the perfect blend of African sun and global trance
