ADULT RAPPERS

What does life look like when “rapper” is your job description?

This documentary feature pulls back the curtain on the world of ‘working class’ rappers. The film spotlights independent artists struggling to find a balance between making a living and pursuing their art alongside the never-ending saga of age and relevance. Weaved together through a series of 30 plus interviews that are devoid of the ego so common in the business of music, especially hip-hop, the film traverses the country (USA) to explore the myths and misconceptions of life as a full-time rapper.

The Crack

This film is inspired by Leonard Cohen’s famous quote: “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”. An old, wise filmmaker takes us through the intricacies of working with analog film: the corn, light leaks and the imperfect yet inherently beautiful developing process. With short glimpses of unique characters, shot entirely on analog film, this piece celebrates the beauty in ugliness, the cracks in our personalities and the quirks of humankind while connecting it to the iconic, flawed look of analog film.

They’re all part of the Indigo Skate Camp, a movement that looks to nurture sustainable skateboarding environments for rural and vulnerable youths, and Andile Msomi is one of them. The camp looks to empower local Zulu villagers to learn and grow through the language of skateboarding—and that they do.
